You can apply for the 2026 Hungarian Divide by submitting a pre-registration form available on the website. Depending on the number of available spots, applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. Those who are accepted will receive a notification and we will start the registration and payment process.Pre-registration is open until 2025.11.21 and runs until 2025.12.10. If the participant limit is reached during this period, no further applications will be accepted for the Hungarian Divide. We will operate a waiting list and notify people if we have open spots.

First, by submitting your pre-registration on time. The earlier you apply, the higher you’ll be in the queue.Second, timely applicants are screened based on their ultra-cycling experience — it’s important that only those who have completed longer cycling events can participate.

At minimum, one successful one-day ride over 300 km (for example, the Balaton Bike Derby).Additionally, any international ultra-cycling experience or any individual ultra effort that you consider relevant may also count.

During the 2026 Hungarian Divide, you will meet us at a total of three points. Exact locations are still being finalized. Planned checkpoints:

1. CP in the Bakony
2. CP in Budapest
3. CP in the North Hungarian Mountains

Available at all CPs:

• Staff on site 24/7
• Sleeping area (at own cost)
• Food/drink (at own cost)

Terrain: The Hungarian Divide route runs mostly off-road, including several technical, challenging sections. The route is rideable almost entirely, but it is recommended only for advanced cyclists who regularly ride off-road.

From 2026 onward, ultra-cycling experience will be mandatory for all participants.

We recommend a bike with tires at least 45 mm wide. For comfort, the wider the better — the most comfortable choice is a mountain bike with minimum 2" (50 mm) tires. Gravel bikes are also very popular and perfectly suitable, but for those we also recommend at least 45 mm tires.

Beyond the bike itself, the rider matters — you must be confident in handling your bike even in difficult terrain.

No, only traditional bicycles are allowed.

The pair category is simple: you receive one tracking device (GPS tracker) that you must carry through the entire course together — you can switch who carries it. On the event’s GPS tracking page you will appear as one team. You can both use every service and refreshment point. You will receive two starter packages and two finisher gifts.
