Bianchi Bakony Gravel & Hungarian National Championships 2026

The one-day Bianchi Bakony Gravel event, organized by KLND, will take place on July 26, 2026, in Huszรกrokelล‘puszta. This event serves as the third round of the 2026 Gravel Series and also doubles as the 2026 Hungarian Gravel National Championships. We look forward to welcoming competitors to determine who the best gravel riders in the country are.

In 2026, this race officially holds the title of the Hungarian Gravel National Championships.

Championship Categories: Distances marked with the ::๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ‡บ:: icon are official National Championship categories. Winners in these categories will be crowned National Champions and awarded the championship jersey.

Open Categories: For distances without this icon, we will still hold a podium ceremony for the day's top finishers; however, these winners will not receive the "Hungarian Gravel Champion" title or jersey.

Eligibility & Participation

Rider without a UCI licence: Cyclists without a racing license are welcome to participate, but they are not eligible for the National Championship rankings.

International Riders: Non-Hungarian citizens are welcome to enter the race, but they are not eligible for the National Championship rankings.

Event Atmosphere & Side Programs

We expect between 100โ€“150 participants for the race. Simultaneously, we are hosting our Camp event, featuring excellent side programs for those who prefer touring or visiting the venue with their families.

Registration Information

  • Online Registration Deadline: July 22, 2026, at 18:00.

  • National Championship Categories: No entries will be accepted after the online deadline

  • Non-Championship Categories: On-site registration is available with a 5,000 HUF surcharge.

Weekend Schedule & Program

July 24โ€“25, 2026: Our Camp event will be held at this location throughout the entire weekend, including during the National Championships. The two events will conclude together with a joint closing ceremony.

10:00 โ€“ Event Center opens: Pickup of race numbers and start of on-site registration.

12:00 โ€“ Call to start line and final technical briefing.

12:10 โ€“ Mass Start โ€“ All Gravel Championship and race categories.

18:00 โ€“ Award Ceremony.

18:30 โ€“ Official end of the event; dismantling of the venue begins.

Technical Limits & Cut-off Times

To ensure the safety and organization of the race, time limits are calculated based on an average speed of 20 km/h.

Please note: Riders arriving from their second lap after 16:00 will not be permitted to start their third lap.

For the races, the routes are signposted, and we provide marshalls, but the route is not fully closed from traffic.

95% Unpaved: Primarily high-quality gravel roads, including short sections of more technical forest double-track and cart paths.

The nature of the course

The Bakony gravel course is a true dream for a gravel rider. In terms of surface quality, it is a rarity in Hungary, featuring exceptionally high-quality, โ€œchampagneโ€ gravel. However, due to the elevation gain, it is a demanding course that will prove a significant challenge to complete at high speeds.

Feed zones

Race Distance

The eventโ€™s single aid station will be located at the race center, by the lap turnaround point. Water, isotonic drinks, energy gels, and sports bars will be available. The staff will not hand out supplies directly; everything will be laid out on a row of tables for self-service.

Personal Support: Assistants may hand out personal bottles or nutrition, but only within the designated zone at the race center. Providing supplies or technical assistance anywhere else on the course is strictly prohibited.

Spare parts and wheels may also be placed within this refreshment zone. While the replacement of any component is permitted, swapping the entire bicycle during the race is not allowed. External technical assistance is prohibited; all participants must perform their own repairs or part replacements.

New for 2026: At both the race and the tour aid stations, we will provide a "KLND Tech kit," which includes a floor pump, spare tubes, basic tools, and a first aid kit.

Finish Line Refreshment

At the finish line, we will welcome every participant with a small portion of warm food and a refreshment. For further meals and drinks, the on-site buffet will provide excellent options throughout the event.

Competition rules

The gravel race competition rules issued by the Hungarian Cycling Association Gravel branch are the governing regulations for gravel race events.

Awards

The 1st-3rd place finishers in each category will receive a medal and a gift package

Hungarian Cup overall classification

We are also announcing the overall points competition for the racers for the 2026 season, which includes all three Hungarian Cup races and the National Championship. We will evaluate all age groups and distances in the overall classification. In events where there are no different distances in an age-group, we only give points in that one distance/category. The results will be announced at the end of the series in Hรฉvรญz.
The description of the overall scoring is based on point 82 of the regulations.

Start procedure

Start Order (Call-up Order for the Mass Start)

The start call-up procedure begins 10 minutes before the race. In every age group listed above, we will first call up the top 3 finishers from last year's National Championship, followed by the top 5 from the 2026 Hungarian Cup overall standings.

The event features a mass start. There will be no "slow start" or neutral section; the racing begins immediately from the "gun."

The event center and its surroundings are perfectly suited for families. You can easily spend a few hours here while a parent is out on the course. We offer:

Catering

The event center will feature a buffet open from early morning, offering a variety of food and drinks throughout the day. As is our tradition, every competitor is invited for a complimentary coffee, and after crossing the finish line, weโ€™ll provide a serving of warm food to help you refuel those carbohydrates. We know youโ€™ll definitely need them!

Parking

The primary parking option is the parking lot located directly opposite the event center. Spaces are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
